Fast Swim Academy In-person, Tampa
Private one-on-one lessons in Tampa with Maria Rezhylo, world record holder in the 50m breaststroke. First strokes to Ironman race prep. Never group instruction, never laps for the sake of laps.
Who it's for
The method doesn't change with the swimmer, only the starting point does. Mechanics first, reinforced until they hold under fatigue.
Never swum, or afraid of the deep end? Anyone can learn to swim at any age. Maria starts with comfort and breath, then builds the stroke piece by piece.
Plateaued on the clock? A world-class eye finds what club coaching misses. Stroke rebuilds, starts, turns, and race-pace mechanics that survive the back half.
The swim shouldn't spend your race. Efficient open-water mechanics, sighting, and pacing so you exit the water with your legs still fresh.
Swim for health, not medals? Better mechanics make every lap count for more, so your pool time turns into real conditioning instead of tired shoulders.
Inside a lesson
Every session is built for you, but the shape is the same: see it, fix it, own it.
Maria watches you swim, in the water beside you, not from a chair on the deck. She finds the one or two mechanics costing you the most right now.
Targeted drills and hands-on correction until the new movement clicks. You'll know exactly what changed and why, not just "do it again."
Repetition under gradually increasing effort, so the fix holds when you're tired. You leave each lesson with homework you can do on your own.
The pool
Lessons happen at 2525 N Dale Mabry Hwy, Tampa, FL 33607, minutes from downtown and Westshore. Scheduling is set directly with Maria around your week, mornings, evenings, or weekends.
Before you ask
Anything else, send it Maria's way — she reads every quiz that comes in and answers honestly, including when the answer is that coaching isn't the right fit yet.
Take the quizYes, and you're the swimmer Maria most likes to teach. Anyone can learn to swim at any age. The first lessons are about comfort and breath, in water where you can stand, at a pace you control.
It depends on your goal and your timeline, and that's exactly what Maria settles with you at your intro lesson. Most swimmers do one lesson a week with practice homework in between. Maria will tell you honestly what your goal actually requires.
A swimsuit and goggles. That's it. Any training equipment a lesson needs, Maria provides.
Ask her — take the quiz or DM @mashaswims. Every lesson is one-on-one, so Maria will tell you directly whether she's the right coach for your swimmer's age and level, and point you elsewhere if not.
Your first lesson is an intro lesson: $120 for a full hour, one-on-one, booked and paid right in the quiz. After that first hour Maria recommends a plan and pricing based on your goal — with no obligation to continue.
Then one-on-one is the only format that makes sense. Nothing happens before you're ready, and nobody is watching but your coach. Maria has taught adults who avoided the deep end for decades.
